NOTE: ARRL employees are working remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a result amateur test processsing will be much slower than normal.
In order to transmit using amateur radio equipment, it is necessary to have a license issued by the Federal Communications Commission. To obtain a license you must take and pass an exam covering laws and rules, electronics, and operating procedures.
The FCC permits authorized organizations and clubs, such as the Walker County Amateur Radio Group, to conduct amateur radio licensing exams.
Links to practice exams using the actual questions used on the exam can be found on the Links page.
